The Project

BrandBesties needed one platform to run its operations end to end: recruiting and approving Besties, staffing them at events, tracking check-ins in real time and paying them accurately.

The Challenge

The founder had previously invested heavily in a development agency, but the project failed to take off: without a structured discovery process, it lacked clarity and the budget was exhausted before any real product was delivered. Besties applied through spreadsheets and emails, payments were calculated by hand from estimated hours, there was no real-time view of who checked in at events, and finding the right Besties in the right city was slow and manual.

The Solution

A fractional CTO brought CodingIT in to guide the process and assemble a full-stack agile team with the right roles for each phase of the project, starting with discovery and transitioning smoothly into development.

Discovery & Planning

A structured discovery phase with a Functional Analyst, PM, Tech Lead and UX/UI designer, aligning business goals with product scope, use cases and budget, and defining user journeys, flows and wireframes.

MVP Development

A platform where Besties sign up, apply for events and check in and out at gigs, a real-time dashboard to track event staffing across cities, and automated payments integrating check-in logs, hourly rates by role, Veem and QuickBooks Online.
