The client is a medical cost-sharing organization. Before the app, everything a member needed to do ran through a web portal, a phone call, or a manual process. CodingIT built their first mobile application, with the member's whole account inside it.

The Project

The client serves individuals, families, businesses and organizations across the US, with no provider network restrictions, no religious membership requirement, and enrollment open year-round. CodingIT was engaged through the platform provider that serves the client, to build the organization's first mobile application — deliberately an MVP, with room to iterate from there.

The Challenge

Every member task ran through the web portal, a phone call to support, or a manual process, and a member could not see their own account whole. The blocker was not appetite or budget — it was scope: agreeing what the first version had to carry, and what could wait.

The Solution

CodingIT became the mobile team, scoping the MVP with the client and then building it — one Expo React Native codebase producing both apps.

The Member App

Enrollment from the phone, sharing requests with document upload, a payment center, statements and household management, plus member resources and full Spanish translation.

Security and Access

Authentication on AWS Cognito with biometric sign-in, a custom member permissions model for household and organization accounts, PIN and inactivity protections, and secure file handling.

Integration and Migration

Zoho integration, secure document signing in enrollment and requests, connection to the existing payment ecosystem, and a migration that brought every existing member onto the new permissions model with their settings intact.
