The Project

TaxHack ran its clients' R&D tax credit claims on manual, spreadsheet-heavy processes. It needed a scalable platform that automates client onboarding, document intake and IRS-compliant calculations, so its team could focus on clients instead of busywork.

The Challenge

TaxHack had a clearly defined process, but it relied on manual spreadsheets with complex IRS formulas, had no way to automatically notify clients or track their progress, and needed CPAs to manually interpret spreadsheets for each client based on their state and employee data.

The Solution

CodingIT built a fully customized SaaS portal that replicates — and enhances — TaxHack's entire process.

Discovery Phase

Weekly meetings with the TaxHack team to map all user roles and client journeys, document the entire R&D tax credit process, audit existing tools, and evaluate IRS requirements and state-specific compliance rules.

IRS-Compliant Calculations

Clients add team members and assign roles, and automated surveys feed employee answers directly into the calculation engine, which replaces complex spreadsheets and adjusts automatically based on each client's state.

Smart Intake & Progress Tracking

All clients upload required files through the portal, eliminating disjointed email chains, while dashboards, email notifications and Calendly integration let clients and staff see where each case stands.
