The Project
MyFileRunner (MFR) is a trusted E-Filing service provider helping attorneys file court documents in Texas, Illinois, and California. For the past two years, CodingIT has served as their full development team, helping them modernize a decade-old platform, improve system performance, and launch scalable infrastructure—all while providing day-to-day engineering support to both product and internal support teams.
More than a vendor, we operate as real partners—fully embedded in their company, aligned with their timezone, and committed to their long-term success.

The Challenge
When MFR first approached us, they were facing serious limitations that blocked growth:
- Timezone misalignment with their India-based vendor led to long delays and missed opportunities.
- No ownership of their Bitbucket repositories, despite working with the same team for over 10 years.
- Outdated legacy stack (Laravel 4) and a tightly coupled front-end made it hard to iterate.
- Poor system documentation created risk and instability.
- Obsolete Tyler API integration limited compatibility with courts and justice systems.
- Their support department lacked engineering help to address technical tickets quickly.

The solution
CodingIT became their dev team. We brought in a flexible, full-stack squad that adapts to MFR’s evolving needs while driving long-term modernization.
Full Dev Team Ownership:- Full-time engineers for system development, improvement, and support.
- Embedded support for MFR’s customer support team, resolving issues that require technical expertise.
- Fully integrated with internal workflows and 3rd-party partners.
- Laravel 4---Laravel 10 migration, bringing the platform up to date.
- Rebuilt the front-end in ReactJS, decoupling the UI and improving performance.
- API-first architecture with clean, secure, and scalable endpoints.
- Migrated and upgraded the Tyler Justice System API for compliance and future integrations.
- Ran the full discovery phase with UX/UI designers, PMs, analysts, tech leads, and DevOps.
- Mapped out a modern system architecture.
- Created first-ever infrastructure documentation and deployment processes.
- Launched an API documentation portal for internal and external use.
- Timezone-aligned LATAM team, working in CST for real-time collaboration.
- Set up a dedicated Discord channel for open, ongoing communication.
- Transferred all code and repo ownership to MFR on day one.
- Provide ongoing support, fast iteration, and the ability to scale the team based on roadmap priorities.
Results
- True platform ownership restored to MFR after more than a decade.
- Transformed into a modular, modern stack ready for long-term growth.
- Deeply integrated partnership, with CodingIT acting as MFR’s full dev team.
- Supported both new feature delivery and daily support escalations.
- Established transparent communication and flexible resourcing that adapts as the business evolves.
